I haven’t posted much in a while but I am going to start posing again regularly but I haven’t posted much of my climbing work recently I spent most of My summer following around Climber Zed Oliver-Jones around some of north wales best boulders.
I am slowly adding some of my climbing photographs https://www.ukclimbing.com/photos/author.html?id=224062
I shot this image for a Climb and Dine, we wanted to try out and interesting way to advertise this event so we set up tables and chairs onto the wall all safely secure. I enjoyed shooting this image and is very different to the rest of the images I take as it was a lot more laid back and was not as serious as my other shoots
Location: Blaenau Ffestiniog
I am not to keen on bouldering outdoors as the boulder problems can get a bit tricky. I am not very good when it comes to bouldering I definitely prefer my lead climbing, As my boyfriend is a very good climber he loves having a personal photographer follow him around so I have to take my camera with me when ever we go out for a climb . I love taking photos of climbers and this has to be one of my favourites (I have so many favourites). I love this image for its detail of the chalk flying in the air as the chalky hands slaps the boulder. Unfortunately I lost the coloured version of this image but the black & white effect has added a lot more detail that you couldn’t see with the coloured image
Location: Beacon Climbing Centre
I caught this climber pulling the best gameface, and this has to be one of my favourite shots I have caught whilst shooting climbing competitions. I had photographed many climbers that day but as the day went on the climbs got harder and I was lucky enough to catch this climber in the right moment pulling the best game face I have seen.
THE BEACON BOULDER JAM EVENTS HAVE BEEN BRILLIANT NIGHTS FULL OF ENTHUSIASTIC AND SUPPORTIVE CLIMBERS.
The great thing about these events is that they are non competitive competitions and any climbing abilities can enter, the event is more about the enjoyment.
A must attend event for everyone!
(a short piece I wrote for graen Magazine. check out the magazine and Beacon climbing centre)
Climbing is my favourite sport to shoot
Why ? The muscle defenition the power that they have and there love for the sport.
Hylldrem is a very popular spot for climbing and my favourite place to shoot. The moves are hard and you need a lot of enthusiasm and strength for these boulders this us why it’s my favourite spot to shoot.
Location Beacon Climbing Centre Caernarfon
Photography has always been a hobby of mine however when it comes to working and taking photographs it can become quite repetitive but I still enjoy it.
Recently I have had an amazing opportunity to work for the Beacon Climbing Center in Caernarfon, as climbing is one of my favourite activities. To combine one of my favourite hobbies with one of my favourite activities is such a great experience for me. Whilst I have been working in the beacon as a photographer it makes me question what will I do after university, and if I will want to work as a photographers assistant or focus more of my work into sports photography as I feel my standard of work in this erea is quite high and that I enjoy this type of photography, as I love to capture the strength of the climbers and the way they dance on the wall. Making it look so easy yet it requires so much strength and power to complete the most difficult of moves and this is why I love to photograph this sport as there is so much to capture.
