I have captured my self in a rainy landscape to emphasise a bad Dream, as I live in North Wales where the rain never stops, creating a gloomy, moody atmosphere and I wanted to capture how hard it can be to be joyful in such a cold, wet, cloudy, landscape. I am representing defeat with my body language in these images, and the struggle to raise my head, and to not be staring at the muddy ground, I am often told to stop daydreaming. I am just in my own world. Trying to forget about the rain, trying to daydream about the blue sky and green fields and not cold, wet, grey clouds. and this is just a dream, Once I raise my head I can see the rain fading away and that this storm won’t last forever. I can’t admit to defeat doesn’t matter how lonely or lost I feel there is always some sunshine in North Wales. this is just a dream.
I Liked this image I have captured and just wanted to share it. I feel like it shows the true meaning to a Countryside Rebel for the kids who don’t hang around on the streets and who prefer to live the adventurous side that snowdonia has to offer. I captured these two subject walking across a farm gate using it as a slackline.
I have now had a bit of practice with film work as my current project in Foundation Art is digital story telling, for this project we where taken to Coed-Y-Brenin. We where told to create a film that lasted 30 seconds and to capture what coed-Y-Brenin.
Coed-Y-Brenin is a popular forest park. It is popular for its mountain bike trails and hiking paths. I wanted to capture how man and the forest have come together.
I have posted a lot of my climbing photographs. I want to show more of an artistic side to my work.
This is my Dreaming series, where I have created Self portraits. I have used my Self in these images as I am often full of Photo ideas, but it always seems to be a challenge finding a model when I need them, and I did not want my inspiration to run low. I was feeling very artistic and grabbed my Camera and tripod and started shooting these images.
In these images I have used a nude like body suit to give my self nude look. I have found it a lot better using this outfit as it gives the image a basic look as using another outfit such as a dress or more colourful clothing would be more distracting. I feel like the body suite am wearing gives more shape to my self as a subject
I am not to keen on bouldering outdoors as the boulder problems can get a bit tricky. I am not very good when it comes to bouldering I definitely prefer my lead climbing, As my boyfriend is a very good climber he loves having a personal photographer follow him around so I have to take my camera with me when ever we go out for a climb . I love taking photos of climbers and this has to be one of my favourites (I have so many favourites). I love this image for its detail of the chalk flying in the air as the chalky hands slaps the boulder. Unfortunately I lost the coloured version of this image but the black & white effect has added a lot more detail that you couldn’t see with the coloured image
I caught this climber pulling the best gameface, and this has to be one of my favourite shots I have caught whilst shooting climbing competitions. I had photographed many climbers that day but as the day went on the climbs got harder and I was lucky enough to catch this climber in the right moment pulling the best game face I have seen.
DEAD INSIDE was a project I worked on last year for my A-level Art coursework.
The idea behind the project was to hide my subjects face as it creates a creepy atmosphere with a lot of mystery to my images.
I worked with many objects to cover my subjects face. I initially used a gas mask from WWII and I am very fond of the images that I produced. However I then went on to use a ram skull and I imediatley fell in love with the images that I had produced. I loved the gloomy look of these images and this is how I came up with the project DEAD INSIDE. I then created the ‘Box Heads‘ which I used with the ram skull by merging them together to create my final piece, a short film. (box head film)
Photography has always been a hobby of mine however when it comes to working and taking photographs it can become quite repetitive but I still enjoy it.
Recently I have had an amazing opportunity to work for the Beacon Climbing Center in Caernarfon, as climbing is one of my favourite activities. To combine one of my favourite hobbies with one of my favourite activities is such a great experience for me. Whilst I have been working in the beacon as a photographer it makes me question what will I do after university, and if I will want to work as a photographers assistant or focus more of my work into sports photography as I feel my standard of work in this erea is quite high and that I enjoy this type of photography, as I love to capture the strength of the climbers and the way they dance on the wall. Making it look so easy yet it requires so much strength and power to complete the most difficult of moves and this is why I love to photograph this sport as there is so much to capture.
